UPDATE: Pastor Installation Postponed – Please check back for new date & time!

January 13, 2021

Dear OSLC Family,

The best laid plans of mice and men oft go astray.” As you know from your own experiences, we plan for things and then life can get in the way. Unfortunately, COVID-19 has gotten in the way for so many of us these past two plus years. And now it has struck our community yet again. Pastor Jim tested positive and is now at home isolating with Amy, Anna, Peter and Liam. Pastor Jim has been vaccinated and also received the booster, so we pray his symptoms stay mild.

This news sadly means the Installation celebration planned for this Sunday will be postponed to a date to be determined in the near future. Once a date is rescheduled, we will let you know so we can fully celebrate this special moment for our church family together in a safe and loving way!

Because Pastor Jim was in close contact with Deacon Sherie, there will NOT be any in-person worship services this coming weekend. Pastor Jim will record a simple reflection that will be available on the Our Savior’s Facebook page Sunday morning. (Click here for instructions to view live video on the OSLC Facebook page even if you do not have your own Facebook account.)

This news is one more reminder that none of us are immune to COVID-19. Please continue to be mindful of your health and the health of others around you. Let’s keep looking out for each other and ourselves. Please lift up Pastor Jim, Amy, Anna, Peter and Liam in your prayers and thoughts.

Being church after church,

Executive Leadership Team, Our Savior’s Lutheran Church

Let’s wonder together as God unveils grace, love and joy to us! In that spirit, the installation service for OSLC’s new pastor, James Hearne, will be Sunday, January 16. There will be a single service at 9:30am, and we’ll be joined in the festivities by Pastor Kristin Nielsen from Greater Milwaukee Synod ELCA. Light treats will be served following worship.

This is an exciting, new partnership and adventure in the ministry of OSLC’s family; let’s pack the place and celebrate this new page in OSLC’s story!

(Please note there is only ONE service this weekend.)
